Cummins was founded in 1919, and headquartered in Columbus, Indiana, USA. Group has approximately 61,615 employees, more than 600 distribution organizations and more than 8,000 distributors worldwide, and provides products and services to customers in more than 190 countries and regions.

As early as 1975, Cummins started business in the Chinese market and was one of the first multinational companies to China. In 2016, Cummins merged power business and high-horsepower business to form the Power Systems Division. This division focuses on high-power engines to power generator, mining equipment, ship engines, railway, oil and gas fields.

Cummins' power business products are used for backup power, distributed power generation, and auxiliary power to mobile devices. The department also provides full-service and power solutions including long-term operation and maintenance agreements, turnkey projects, and temporary power supplies. The product line includes diesel and alternative fuel generator sets (2.5 kW ~ 2.7 MW), alternators (0.6 KVA ~ 30,000 KVA), engines to generator sets, control systems, transfer switches (40 amps ~ 3,000 amps), switch cabinets, etc. It is widely used in office buildings, hospitals, factories, municipalities, power plants, universities, recreational vehicles, yachts and home power supplies.
